I Love My Nephew :)

When I got home and opened an e-mail from my (middle) sister, it was one sentence. My nephew asked me to make my broccoli and cheese sauce this week-end. I usually make the cheese sauce any time we are together, on fries, ham, potatoes, eggs. He loves it.

My husband just signed into his PS3 game and there was a message from the same nephew that said “Please Read.”

He opened it and here it is: Can you tell (Bead) to make her awesome cheese sauce?

I guess he wasn’t taking any chances that his Mom didn’t e-mail me. LOL!

Now I feel all special and stuff.

I just love him to bits and pieces. He is in High School and still lets me hug him.   :)

How sweet!! What is the recipe for the cheese sauce or is that a secret not to be shared?! ;)

Awww!!! :D You ARE all special and stuff. You nephew is obviously very intelligent. And sweet. I sort of love him too, right now. ;)
    I second Apar—if it’s not a family secret; spill! :)

Aw I love a teenage boy who still likes to be hugged! What a special and very perceptive boy…and obviously loves his aunt and her cooking to bits!

Hi, Apar! The recipe? Well, I just made it up on my own because I never liked the sauces where they use a bunch of flour and cream. If I wanted fake sauce with a hint of cheese flavor…

You’ll probably croak when you see the list, just reading it will clog your arteries. LOL!

I use about 250 grams of grated old cheddar, maybe a teaspoon or two of flour, and at first about a quarter cup of cream. Throw it in the nuke for 1 minute. Take it out and stir. If it is too runny, I add more cheese. Too thick, add more cream and stir.

Then right before we eat, I will throw it back in for 1 more minute.

It hardens pretty quick if you leave it sitting. But it sure tastes great.

(I rarely ever use a microwave for anything, but for this and brown sugar fudge, you just can’t beat it.)

Awww, thanks Muse. :) You would love him if you met him. He is a real sweetie pie. But then so are all my nephews and my niece. (No bias here)

I spilled in my reply to Apar. Uh oh…I can hear that…. :)

Me too, Magik. He only loves me for my food. :)
Just kidding. But he does love to eat good food. Never liked junk food, even when he was young. You couldn’t drag him out to trick or treat. He wanted to stay home and hand them out. As a wee one, you couldn’t even get him to eat a slice of his birthday cake. He will now though! :)

That is so sweet to be thought of that way and for him to have been worried that you wouldn’t get the message. I will always remember my aunts and some of their special dishes together. Also, there was my Nana’s spaghetti. So, it’s okay to be thought of in association with a favorite dish. Better than to not be thought of at all, right?! LOL. How are you, BD? Sorry I’ve been away so long.

Hi Teeni! How are you? Good, I hope. It’s great to see you out and about!
I don’t mind being loved for food, I guess I could say I’m quite the dish….argghhh, so lame! But I had to! I’m doing pretty good, thanks.
