Taking a few days off…

had a bit of bad news (about a close relative) recently. And just want to take a bit of a break. I’ll be taking a few days away from blogging. Be back to explain later.

Sorry to hear about the relative bead, hope you find some comfort and support in your close family.
I know as it is a close relative that this has got to hurt as I know how close and loyal you are to your family.

Take all the time you need, dear beadie one.
We will be here.
Sending you good and supportive thoughts!
I’m very sorry to hear there is bad news. I hope everything is okay.
Thanks so much for your concern, Magik, Muse and Bird. I was just in a bit of shock that my Gran(dmother) has cancer again and I just wasn’t prepared for it.
She’s such a tiny thing and to have to battle this again at her age scares the heck out of me. The good news is that it is only in one area and has not spread, so they may be able to operate.
I don’t know, it really hit me to hear this. I will probably be a bit busy the next while. She is going to see the specialist soon and we’ll see what advice he has to give and what the next step will be. I’ll keep you posted.
So, sorry if I am not around blogland for a bit.
Thanks again. I appreciate it.
Sorry for your Gran. I’m glad to hear it has not spread. Since you said “again” I’m guessing she has dealt with this before and can probably beat it again. Hopefully there will be a simple surgery. Sending positive thoughts your way!
I think part of it is that we just do not like to see our elderly loved ones suffer. It seems so unfair…with them at this stage of their lives… to be faced with huge surgeries and treatments.
My 86 year MIL had two to three massive operations late last year..one where they amputated her leg due to medical incompetence and we thought that would be it but she is now in a nursing home that is a little like a really good private hotel and she is spoilt rotten..as she deserves to be. Visitors every afternoon and manicures and pedicures etc!
One thing with the women currently in their eighties …they have been through the war and they have got some serious courage and determination so am sure your tiny grandma is a fighter…much like her grandaughter.
Love and many prayers

BirdPress, thank you. She has beaten cancer twice. I was just so scared this time because of her age and I don’t want her to suffer. I know I have to face reality, it’s just that I don’t want to. Thanks so much for your support.
Magik, I remember you telling us about your Mother-In-Law, what a fighter. She does sound like my Gran!
She sure is not letting this get her down. So, I am going to stay positive too.
I really appreciate your support. Thanks!
Hey BD! I’m so sorry about this latest news. Your gran will be in my thoughts and prayers, as will your entire family. Take the time you need to be there for her. It sounds like she has a good attitude and most likely that is what has gotten her through in the past. The reality you may have to face is that she plans on sticking around. This is what I’ll be hoping for. Hugs and good energy being sent in your direction.
Thanks Teeni! I appreciate your thoughts and wishes. (((hugs))) right back.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of your for your comments. Did I ever tell you that I count myself lucky to have met all of you on this www? You are truly wonderful people. Thank you!
I was just a bit taken aback by the news but I will remain as positive as my Gran has been!
She sees the specialist on July 1st and we’ll know more then. All your thoughts and prayers are really appreciated.
Thanks so much.
that works both ways bead…you have always been a supportive, interesting, fun and intelligent blogger and it is great when all those things come together!
Will be checking in on you
