Has anyone ever tried solar cooking? When I saw you could easily build a solar oven, I knew it was something I have to try. What a neat idea!

There are many different kinds. With all the storms we have been having and people being without power, it might be a good idea to have one of these made and ready for use ahead of time. Bring when hiking or camping, just in case.

Here are a few different instructions on how to build your own.

If you have tried this before, please let me know how it worked out for you. Feel free to share any hints or tips with us too. It would be appreciated!

I cannot guarantee the safety or anything if you make one. Use this at your own risk.

It is cool! I will try making one this summer. I have a bunch of stuff printed out about them and recipes. I’ll have to go through it and maybe post some more about it.

Let me know if you make one and how it turned out for you.

This is really neat. I had never seen or heard of one of these but would love to try it. I like not relying on oil or the electric company for everything.

Hi, Teeni. It’s pretty cool. It take forever to cook stuff though! But really , if it came down to it being the last option, I’d wait. :)

I can’t wait to try it!
